💳 Billing & Medicare Coverage FAQs
Answers to common questions from patients and caregivers about cost, coverage, and wound care treatment.

📌 1. Is this covered by Medicare?
Yes. Medicare Part B covers our advanced wound care services, including biologic skin grafts, for eligible patients with non-healing wounds. Most patients pay little or no
out-of-pocket cost.
💰 2. Will I have a copay?
If you have Medicare only, you may be responsible for 20% of the approved cost. Many patients have secondary insurance (like Medicaid or Medigap) that covers this. We’ll check your benefits and help you explore assistance if needed.
🧾 3. What about the Medicare deductible?
Medicare has a small annual deductible (about $250 in 2025). After that, Medicare
covers 80% of wound care costs.
💉 4. Does the treatment hurt?
Not at all. The biologic graft is applied like a medical dressing — no cutting or stitching. Most patients feel little to no discomfort during treatment.
🔁 5. How many treatments will I need?
That depends on your wound. Some patients respond after one or two treatments;
others may benefit from weekly visits over several weeks.
🩺 6. Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Not necessarily. Medicare does not require one, but it's best practice that we coordinate care with your doctor or facility staff if you’re in a home health or SNF setting.
✅ 7. Do I need prior authorization?
Original Medicare doesn’t require pre-auth for grafts. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, our team will handle all prior authorization steps for you.
🚐 8. Can you come to my location?
Yes. We offer mobile wound care. Our nurse practitioners come to your home, SNF,
or assisted living facility — no travel needed.
📋 9. Am I eligible for this treatment?
We don’t limit care to chronic wounds — while we treat those open 30+ days, we also
accept patients from day one. If you have Medicare Part B or an equivalent plan,
you may qualify. We'll confirm eligibility before starting treatment.
