Dr. Marichel Marcolino is a board-certified internist and Medical Director at WoundCare Innovators, bringing over two decades of clinical and academic excellence to the organization. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree cum laude from the University of the Visayas – Gullas College of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines, and completed her internal medicine residency at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New York. She also trained in adult cardiology and has served in both hospitalist and teaching faculty roles across major hospital systems in San Antonio, Texas.
As Medical Director, Dr. Marcolino oversees clinical compliance and documentation protocols for Medicare-covered advanced wound care services delivered in home and facility settings. Her role ensures that every patient encounter meets the highest standards for evidence-based care, safety, and integrity — while supporting the nurse practitioner team under her guidance.
A Diplomate of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Marcolino is also known for her numerous case-based research contributions, with multiple recognitions in national and international medical forums. She continues to champion patient-centered care, medical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration in both hospital and community health environments.
Janice is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in hospital medicine, wound care, and healthcare leadership. She earned her Master’s Degree in Adult/Gerontology Acute Care and holds certification as a Wound Care Specialist with advanced debridement training. Janice also serves as a Hospice Administrator, bringing deep expertise in palliative care, internal medicine, and case management.
With years of experience in patient safety, nursing leadership, and healthcare delivery, Janice is passionate about delivering exceptional care to vulnerable populations and advocating for improved community health. She is also a dedicated mentor and champion of women’s leadership in healthcare, committed to empowering the next generation of clinical leaders.
Outside of her professional life, Janice enjoys traveling, discovering new foods, and relaxing with short drama series. She is a proud mother of two and part of a blended family with five children. At the heart of her work is a mission to help patients live healthier, more dignified lives across every stage of care.
